FINSENY General Assembly and PMT meetings in Dublin on 8th – 10th October 2012

The FINSENY consortium celebrated its latest General Meeting at the ESB Energy Services ESB ecars premises in Dublin, Ireland on October 8th and 9th 2012. More than 30 people attended representing most of the consortium partners.

One important point in the opening plenary was to discuss the results and recommendation from the first year review meeting. In summary, the project presents a good level of progress and the deliverables are well in line with the work-plan responding to the expectations regarding the main scientific/technological achievements of the project. Some recommendations were received concerning FINSENY external communication addressing primarily the Future Internet as well as Smart Energy Systems.

Other topics discussed during the opening plenary were the last information from the FI-PPP Steering Board and Architecture Board, specifically about the feedback from the use of the Generic Enablers already available from FI-WARE.

The joint review of the project status including its work packages found that FINSENY is working according to the project plan. FINSENY’s future work in each Work Package was organized, and several cross Work Package meetings took place.

The main topics discussed during the meeting were the functional architecture for each scenario work package, the consolidation of the trial description and the setup of the experimentation facilities and the experimentation plan.

Moreover, in a WP1 dedicated session, the past and future dissemination events were discussed and agreed upon, the project contributions in standardization bodies were presented and the plans for the next work in the exploitation, regulation and security strategies where discussed and agreed.

Between the first and the second day, ESB had organized a social event to continue discussions in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Lastly, the FINSENY Board and PMT meetings were co-located and took place after the two days of General Meeting. The recommendations from the 1st year review were also commented and various administrative and Steering Board issues were discussed there, and a final agreement was achieved regarding a new contract amendment.

Finally, we agreed on having a final dissemination event for FINSENY and several choices were discussed.

Altogether, this was an intense and fruitful meeting for everyone who attended. It was a good opportunity to exchange between work packages and line-up on common issues.
